TU President: NEOM is but one mega project among many in Saudi Arabia

27 October 2017

TU President Dr. Husam Zaman congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Council for Economic Affairs and Development, on the launch of the mega project NEOM in the Tabuk region. In a press statement on the occasion of the launch of the NEOM project, TU President congratulated the young men and women of Saudi Arabia on the promising future project, which is part of a series of mega projects and initiatives announced in the past or expected to be announced in the future, and that will translate Saudi Vision 2030 into a reality lived by Saudi citizens.

Dr. Zaman noted the statements made by the Crown Prince during his participation in the "Pulse of Change" session in the "Future Investment Initiative," stressing that these statements reflect not only a genuine attachment to the culture of Saudi Arabia but also a historical awareness of its fundamentals in order to reclaim Islam, which has been hijacked by extremists in the name of a fake revival. TU President stressed that the messages of the Crown Prince embody his confidence in his country and countrymen and in their exceptional abilities to actualize their dreams under the leadership of a wise, decisive king and the determination of a crown prince to whom nothing is impossible.

TU President said, "If our aspiring young Crown Prince considers himself one of 20 million people who motivate and push him forward, the 20 million in turn consider him a symbol of their hopes, a pioneer of their aspirations, and a maker of their future, and - with the help of God - will work behind his leadership to reinvent their country: a vibrant community, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious nation armed with passion, precision, and intelligence to achieve the impossible."

Dr. Zaman invoked the famous statement by the African-American Muslim activist Malcolm X, "The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” He further said, "Our country has gone from the preparation stage to the stage of implementing ideas and visions and launching promising projects for the future to which they belong. Our beloved Kingdom will present to all the countries of the world its unique model of transformation when in 2030 it will have a rendezvous with the chronicles of human civilization.”
